Gray Paper Drawing

I drew my Gray Paper Drawing like this because I wanted my drawing to pop out from the grey, but for it to still have those gray parts added to it. I also wanted to show the black and white pattern, so I made that pattern darker than other parts. My inspiration for my work was to find a gray figure that had some grey parts in it, so its easier to draw. In the beginning, when I was deciding on a picture, I chose this picture or a wolf picture. I wanted to do something a little bit different, so I chose to draw an owl. When I first started drawing the owl, the left eye was too far over to the left. How I changed or modified my plans was by moving the eye a little closer to the right. Something I think I did well with is the color or my values because it makes the owl pop out from the gray paper and I really like that about my drawing. A challenge that I encountered while drawing this drawing was the eyes, they were a little difficult the make even or have a perfect perspective. I solved this problem by looking at the graph that I had on the original picture and matching that on the graph I had drawn on my paper. How I grew as an artist/ person is by learning how to use an even perspective throughout my drawing. Something that I learned throughout this drawing was pattern and rhythm, pattern because I made a repetitive pattern on the owl's face, and rhythm because I had an organized way in drawing out my drawing.
