1 Point Perspective Drawing

I drew my 1 point perspective drawing like this because I wanted to indicate that all of my objects are going to that one point. I also wanted to show the 3D effect and hight difference or how far away an object is on my room for the one point perspective. My inspiration for my work was a picture of a room, I wanted to make my drawing look just like the picture I found on google. I wanted to show a view of the room as if you were to stand in the room and look straight ahead at the whole room. An artist I reflected on was Mc Escher because he drew a lot of room perspectives that looked really cool and I wanted to try it out myself. I reflected off of him because he was the one that stared the one point perspective and showed how he did it with really good detail. My one point perspective drawing was supposed to be a bedroom but I changed it to a living room because I found that it was going to be a lot more fun to draw and it had a lot more lines that could lead to the one point, so that I can indicate better on what a one perspective drawing is and what it is supposed to look like. How I changed some of my plans was that the picture on the left wall was supposed to have a stronger border around it but I decided it should just be a picture frame, so that it will one be easier for me to draw and for two, it won't be as clustered as it would have been with the border. Something I thought I did well with was the back window and the curtains, I liked how it made the room look more real. I also liked how I did the picture and table on the left, I liked having things on the walls, it made the room look fuller. One of the challenges I went through when drawing this drawing was drawing the couch, I didn't really know how to make the arms of the chair look like they were outside of the regular chair, it was just a bit difficult for me to draw. How I solved this problem was by setting a light sketch of the back of my paper to kind of practice on how I am going to do it so that I can fix it on the real thing. How I grew as an artist/ person was by figuring out how to draw things that look like you are right in front of it and by just using a new way to draw for my future drawings. Something I learned was how to use a form with the couch on the right side of my drawing, I also learned about variety and how much I had in my drawing because I had many different shades in my drawing, and lastly I noticed a pattern in my drawing and its main design, which is a circle and three lines.
