Oil Pastel- Landscape

My drawing is a pastel of a landscape, there are two trees, one is closer and one is farther away with orange sand hills in the backround. Something I like about my picture is the shadows from the trees. I like the shadows, because they look realistic and pop out in the picture. Something I dont like and want to change is the orange hills. I think I could have made them darker and more realistic. The color scheme I used was complimentary, the blue and orange next to eachother is an examle of that. I used value in my picture, I starting the sky lighter and made it get gradually darker. I also used lines in my drawing, I used lighter lines for the highlights on the tree where the sun hit and I made darker lines for the shadows on the trees. I used emphasis in my drawing, I made the main focus on the closer tree and a little bit on the back tree. I also used balence in my drawing, the picture is assymetrical because there are two different sized trees on each side, otherwise the picture looks the same on both sides.
